WEEK 1 RECAP

COMMISH NOTES

Another banner year is under way and our little celebration of mediocrity has begun. I hope everyone is fully stocked up with malt liquor and cherry tiparillos cause we will all need that extra energy boost to perform at this top level for the entire season.

We ended up with 138 total poolsters and not surprisingly 6 poolsters took the time to sign up for the pool and didn't bother to make a damn pick.

I'm pretty sure right about now every season ticket holder at Kansas State, Iowa, and Oregon State is standing in line to get their money back.
The vaunted Husker Blackshirts are at it again giving up 34 points to that offensive juggernaut known as the Wyoming Cowboys.

And its always a "Fig Thing" at Notre Dame.

And a big congratulation to the CU Buffs on their big win over the Rammies.

And wasn't it great to see Lou Holtz slobbering gibberish once again. You'd think ESPN could afford to buy the old coach a new set of choppers.

And look out Sacramento State the Mighty Sun Devils are bringing their high flying punting attack right at ya come Thursday night !

WEEKLY WINNER

Pete Thrasher is our lone winner for week one. Pete came in with an impressive 15 wins and he's no stranger to glory he came in 3rd place over all last season not bad for a guy who warmed up for the season by huffing gas and screaming at the neighborhood cats to stay off his lawn.

WEEKLY LOSER

Tom "I miss Weis" Meinert is our dead last loser chalking up a pitiful 4 correct guesses in week 1. I can understand why he did so bad, he's spent the last 6 months holding a candlelight vigil in front of Jerry Sandusky's prison in Pennsylvania blasting the Pet Shop Boys and weeping uncontrollably. As he recently told the Commish, "Jerry's camp was the best week of my life, I learned more about hugging and massage then I ever imagined."

POOL PAYMENTS OK Poolsters, many have you have paid up which is quite amazing but the vast majority of you have not. So put down that hot pocket and go find your checkbook or the change you pilfered from the mall fountain and send your $50 entry fee to:

Kevin "the Commish" Watters 2470 South Jackson Street Denver CO, 80210

The DEADLINE to get your entry fee in is Friday September 13th - if I don't have your payment by that day you are put on the bench and there's a $50 re-entry fee that goes into the pool kitty.
