COMMISH NOTES: The pool is off to a glorious start - already a couple half point games which is awesome or sucks depending what side of the bet you were on and sadly nothing ever changes for the Commish - a fantastic start once again putting me out of contention for any $$$ in week one.

My 12 year old son even beat me - I tried to convince him that the pool was like golf - the person with the lowest score was the winner - he was having nothing to do with that.

ASU once again shined on the national stage laying a giant eggs vs the Para-Military Farmers College of Texas - the only thing worse than the offensive play calling for the Devils was their uniforms - they looked like Liberace

and Richard Simmons got together over a pitcher of mimosas to come up with those beauties. I hear they are retiring the unis and donating them to the Solid Gold Dancers circa 1983.

Nebraska shined in coach Riley's debut - losing their 1st home opener since, I believe, they were still called the Bugeaters. And you know what Big Red by losing to BYU the state of Nebraska will be invaded by hordes of Mormon missionaries on bikes pounding on your doors at all hours - Enjoy !

The Colorado Buffs looked and played like a giant vat of Poi losing a stinker to the barely Division 1 Rainbow Warriors.

And the "happiest" coach in sports lost in his debut - Should be a fun year in Ann Arbor !

And on a side note I'm still missing coach Mangino on the big stage every Saturday !

WEEKLY WINNER

Troy "Twinkles" Winkles is the week 1 winner notching 15 wins in what is always a difficult opening weekend of guessing. When he's not making excellent picks Troy loves to go roller blading with his life partner Serge dressed as Sonny and Cher. He plans to take his $100 in weekly winnings and get a neck tattoo of Clay Aiken. On a side note there were 11 poolsters tied for 2nd with 14 correct picks and 4 of those did nothing at all by going the AUTOPICK method which just shows this pool takes no effort or skill at all !

WEEKLY LOSER

Guy Sanford is the first loser of the year managing to come up with only 5 correct guesses. According to Guy's pool bio he's a grad of Cal State Northridge which on the education scale is somewhere between Earl's Welding School of Yuma and your local puppy training center at PetCo. So honestly, 5 wins is quite the accomplishment. We all expect awful things from Guy throughout the season.
